This was Austin (and Jake's) first pinewood derby. I had to post these pictures because it was a pretty funny night. Austin (and Jake) had alot of fun.

The picture above is of the three boys who came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The picture below is of the dads of the top 3. I'm not sure who enjoyed making the cars more-the dads or the boys. Jon (in the middle) let Jake come and use some tools in his shop to build the car. When we got to the church Russ gave Jake a few extra weights for Austins car. And guess who ended up winning! I bet Jake (and Austin) won't have quite as much help for the next Pinewood Derby.

Kemry turns 6- September 19, 2009

Wow! I can't believe how fast time goes by! Kemry turned 6 in September, and she had her birthday party at Jungle Jim's. I love this girl so much and am so thankful every day for the sweetness she adds to our family. Kemry is such a great sister and we are so lucky that she is healthy and doing well after the rough start she had with her heart. Kemry you are beautiful and we love you so much!

Yesterday was my Madi's Birthday! I cannot believe how grown up she is and how fast time goes by! I am amazed every day at how beautiful Madison is on the inside and outside! She is an amazing sister. Kemry and Maycee look up to her so much, and want to be just like her! Madison is so kind and thoughtful and she does her best to please everyone! What a sweet girl! Its so sad to have her grow up so fast. I love you Madi, and I am so proud of the wonderful person you are!

Maycee's Birthday started out with Grandpa coming over and bringing some fun presents! An Ariel crown, and a Diego rescue pack full of some fun card games. Maycee's party was the day after her Birthday at Backyard Adventures.

It is crazy to think that Maycee is 4 years old! I seriously can't believe how fast time goes by. I love this girl so much, and I can't imagine what life would be like without her! Life was a little bit crazy with her the first few years because she was a pretty sassy baby, but now she is so much fun to have around. I really don't know what Kemry would do without her. The two of them are best friends, and I love to listen to their conversations, and watch them play together. They watch out for each other and wherever one is, the other one wants to be there too.

Draper Temple

The end of April we were able to go to the Draper Temple to be with my nephew Bridger when he received his endowments! It was such an awesome night, and it was so nice to be with almost all of the Schaugaard family! Bridger had just received his mission call a bit before this night, and as of now, he is in the MTC with 7 weeks to go before he heads off to the Portland Oregon Spanish speaking mission. Bridger is such a great guy, and such a great example to all of us. He was Baptized in August and here we are 8 months later going through the Temple with him. Yes! These are Easter pictures!! I am so behind on blogging, so now that I've got my Relief Society lesson over with, and Enrichment over with, I feel like I have some time to blog! I really think about blogging often, but have had other things going on, and just haven't gotten around to it.

Kemry and Maycee are best friends. I went downstairs to check on them one day, and this is what they were doing. Standing and sitting on the dresser reading to each other. I love these girls!! Last Tuesday, Kemry and Maycee started soccer! It was freezing, but so much fun to watch! They were so excited for their first game. This is a few of the girls on their team.

Kemry ended up making 1 goal at the game! She was so excited, and we were so impressed at how well she played! I thought Maycee might be the one who got more into it, but Kemry definitely was! Maycee is the smallest one on the team, and it was so cold, that she wasn't quite sure about the whole thing.

Happy Birthday Austin! (Sorry we're only about a month late!) I love this picture of Austin because it shows his real smile! What a handsome boy we've got. Not only is he handsome, but he is such a good kid! Sometimes he gets a little overlooked with all the girls around here, but he doesn't seem to mind. Austin is such a good brother, and he loves his sisters even though he teases them quite a bit. Isn't that what brothers are for? We are so proud of Austin and his choice to be Baptized and Confirmed. It was such a special day because he was able to be Baptized on his Birthday. We are always amazed with this boy, he says awesome prayers, he is kind to others, and polite. Austin has always been very good to babies, and little kids. He is very athletic, and can pretty much do any sport. He loves all different sports, but soccer has been the one he has stuck with the most. This year he wants to play football, and I'm sure he will be good at football too. Austin loves his dad, and wants to be just like him. For his Birthday, he got a gun, and he can't wait to go shooting, and hunting with Jake. I am so glad that he has such a good dad, and that they are such good friends.

We love you so much Austin and are so glad to have you in our lives!

We had a great Valentines weekend a few weeks ago! Usually Valentines Day isn't anything too special around here, but this year Jake surprised me and came home from work on Friday night! This was a huge surprise and one I thought he would never do! He planned the whole weekend and had the kids go to his mom and dads house . We went to a movie Friday night and Saturday morning went to breakfast with Jeri and Blake for Jeri's Birthday. Then we did a little shopping and went to another movie. The next big surprise was the dinner he planned at his parents house where our kids served us salad, steak, shrimp, baked potatoes, and dessert! It was so much fun. Patty had the kids decorate the basement for Valentines, and she said they couldn't wait to surprise us! The funniest part was that Madison snuck white shirts and pink tank tops for the girls to wear, and a white shirt for Austin. She brought his pink tie from Todd and Cara's wedding, but it broke. Jake had Madison in on the deal from the beginning, and she was worried that I found out about it because I found out that he was coming home Friday night. Thank you babe for the fun and memorable weekend,and for all your thoughtfulness and planning! Also thanks to Chris and Patty for putting up with our kids all weekend, and helping with everything!!

Christmas Eve we always spend with the Treseder family! We have done this for as long as I can remember. We always have the kids dress up and Stephen reads the Christmas story out of the scriptures and we sing Christmas songs that go along with it!

After all the good food and the nativity, the kids get to open their Christmas jammies! Do you think they are just a little excited for Christmas morning?

We had a great Christmas! We are so blessed! One of the greatest blessings we have is the knowledge of why we really celebrate Christmas! How lucky we are to remember our Savior at this time of year and teach our children about His life. Every night throughout December we would read a scripture and show a picture of our Savior and talk about His life. I hope every year to do something similar to remember HIM!

Nutcracker and dance recital

In 2006 my dad took Madison to the Nutcracker and gave her her very own Nutcracker! This year he decided to take Kemry and Maycee to the Nutcracker and give them their own Nutcracker! I also got to go with them as well as our friends Eryn and Brynlee. We all had a good time! Thanks dad for the fun night! Kemry and Maycee were so excited to get all dressed up to go!

Madison and Austin both got the CEO award at school this month. Madison on December 5th, and Austin on December 12th. CEO stands for chief example to others. Madison got the award for always coming prepared and with a great attitude! Way to go Madison! I am so proud of my kids. They are such good kids and students at school. Last Sunday Madison got her hair cut. She got bangs, and some highlights! At first she didn't like it, but I think its growing on her. I love it, sad thing is it makes her look older! She is still as beautiful as ever! Thanks Cara for the great hair cuts and colors you always give us!
Austin got the CEO for following directions! I'm so proud of him too! When they get the CEO award they get a free kids meal at Mimi's Cafe. Way to go Austin!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year! Jake had to work so we had dinner with the Schaugaard family, and then a few hours later we had dinner at the firestation. Jake's crew invited their families to come and eat. It was a good day with a lot of good food, good family, and alot to be thankful for!

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to Kemmerer! We love to go there, and had alot of fun. The kids love going to the chicken coop to gather eggs. Jake and Blake were able to go duck hunting, and Stratton and Austin went with them one of the times. They all loved that.
When we got there on Friday, we went to the forest to get fresh cut Christmas trees! Jake really didn't want to get one I'm not sure why, but we all talked him into it, and we came home with 3 of them. All strapped to the top of our Yukon!! It was pretty funny.
Madi wanted her own tree, so we let her pick one out for her bedroom.

The kids all loved looking for trees. I think we need to make this a tradition!

Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween this year! My friend DeeAnn's family always invites us to their Halloween party. This is all the kids at the party.

Madison and Kambrea. They were so surprised to see each other in the same costume this year! These two are such good friends. We wish they lived closer.

On Halloween we went to our friends Erin and Mike's house. We have been doing this for the past few years, and it is so much fun! Jeri and Blake came this year, but Austin went trick-or-treating with his friend Carson.

Madison and 2 of her friends Ashley and Sienna all planned to be hippy's this year. That's why she was so surprised to see Kambrea as a hippy too.

Austin loves Indiana Jones from the movies to the WII Game! His decision to be Indiana was a pretty easy one! Thanks to Matt and Lisa for letting him borrow their WII game for so long!

Ashlee took Kemry shopping for her Birthday and told her she could pick out her own Halloween costume. She wanted to be a "pirate girl!" What a beautiful little girl she is!

Maycee at first wanted to be a penguin, but then decided that she wanted to be Gabriella! She made such a cute Gabriella and looked so cute with dark hair!

October Fun!

I feel like its been forever since I've posted, so here is a little bit of what we've been doing! Over UEA we went to the park with Cindy and Jeri and their kids! It was alot of fun! We got pizza for lunch and Jeri's mom and sisters were there also. With all of us I think there were 19 kids and 6 adults. I wish I had my camera out for that!

The last few years we have grown pumpkins and it is so much fun! These are the pumpkins we grew and the kids have wanted to carve them since we picked them.

This is our new favorite place to get ice cream. The kids got coupons for a free ice cream from school for meeting their reading goal for the month. We've been back another time since this!

For preschool Maycee had to pick an animal and make a cage for it and then Mrs. King held a mock zoo. Maycee picked panda bears, and luckily she has a very talented dad who helped her make a cage for her pandas!!

We love Mrs. King! Thanks for the fun activity, even though Maycee and Presley don't look so happy about it. Actually this was when Presley was realizing that she couldn't bring her hippo home yet, and she was very upset! Maycee was feeling her pain.
Kemry and Brynlee have taken dance together since they were 2(almost 3) and they love it! They have taken tap, ballet, and this year jazz!

Kemry and Brynlee are best friends, and we are so lucky to have them live around the block from us.
Austin was able to go hunting with Jake, Steve and Toby for Steve's Mountain Goat. He was so excited. He always wants to go with his dad, and I think Jake was just as excited to finally be able to take him. This is one of the things Jake has always wanted since Austin was born, was to be able to hunt and have a buddy to go with him.
Austin got to miss 2 days of school to hunt, and luckily on the 2nd day Steve shot the Mountain Goat. Austin was able to make it back to school on Friday.
This is my handsome boy before he got his 8 teeth pulled! We went to the orthodontist, and he wanted them pulled to save us money and Austin time on having to wear braces in the future.
This is Austin with his Jack-o-lantern smile after the teeth came out! Still as handsome as ever! We had him put under so they could do all of them at once, and he was a little nervous on the way to the dentist. Austin was so brave and was able to get the I.V. without getting a shot first to put him to sleep. I was so proud of him for being such a brave little guy!

Good Things Utah/Time out for Women

I know its been a few weeks since this, but on September 12, Jake and our nephew Nate were able to go on Good Things Utah to promote Nate's school hero program, and the 5k run that our sister-in-law Cindy put together. Nate had to choose a hero and he chose Jake as his hero. What a great kid Nate is! Don't let Jake forget about the candy he still owes you Nate. I love Good Things Utah, so it was fun to go and watch. Doesn't Jake look like a hottie in his uniform!!
After Good Things Utah, all the girls in Jake's family met and we went to Logan for the weekend to go to Time Out for Women. We had such a good time, and I love getting together with all of them. Time out for women is an evening and a day full of speakers and musical talent. Friday night we heard James Ferrell the author of The Peacegiver, and The Holy Secret. Also Jenny Oaks Baker who is a violinist. She was amazing, and if you haven't read The Peacegiver, it is a must read. I'm still reading The Holy Secret. Also Kenneth Cope(an LDS artist) sang Friday night and Saturday. Saturday was a day full of women speakers, who all did a very good job. It was a very uplifting weekend, and we are all looking forward to another one!

Happy Birthday to our little Kems!! Kemry you are such a special little girl, and we can't believe that you are 5 now! We are so lucky to have you in our family, and we feel especially blessed that you are so healthy after such a rough start in life! Kemry you are the sweetest, most tender hearted girl. As I was blogging a few weeks ago about my mom, I was crying as I was typing, and poor Kemry ran out of the room just bawling. I went after her to see what was wrong, and she was so upset because she missed grandma Cheryl! We love your kisses and snuggles that you always give to us. We especially like it when you kiss your blanket because you love it so much. You are the best sister and friend to Maycee. Fun Weekend

Thank to Blake and Jeri for inviting us last weekend to go to the health fair up at the U!! I really wasn't sure if I wanted to go cuz Jake was working, and they wanted to leave early! I'm glad we decided to go, and at the last minute we got my dad to go. It was so much fun! The kids loved it and we got tons of free stuff including food, balloons, and face painting. The food included hot dogs, cotton candy, snowcones, and creamies!!
I had to take a picture of Maycee and her "best friend". As we were walking to the fair, Kemry was holding Blake's hand, and I asked her if she was holding her best friends hand? (Blake always asks her if he is her best friend). She said yes, but even cuter than that, Maycee said I'm holding my best friends hand!! My kids sure love their grandpa, and we are so lucky to live right next door to him.

It was fun to watch the helicopter take off. I think the kids were surprised at how windy it was when it was just above us!

Thanks Blake and Jeri and grandpa for a fun time! We are already looking forward to go again next year!

11 years

11 Years ago today, was probably one of the worst days of my life!! It was the day my mom passed away. She died 6 months after I got married, and I became so close to her in those 6 months. I would go over everyday on my lunch, and she would have something for us to eat, or we would go get something, I was able to take her to her chemo treatments and spend time with her there. My mom also had Jake and I over for dinner every night. I guess she just couldn't stand the thought of having 1 less child at home to take care of! Just a few weeks before she passed away, she fell down the stairs of our basement apartment, and broke her foot. It took a few days for me to convince her to go to the E.R. Finally I got her to go and I remember she wouldn't tell them that she had cancer because it was none of their business! I thought for sure it was something you would have to tell them. This was just how my mom was. She didn't want anyone to worry about her. She was the most amazing person!! She was not selfish and she cared about and loved everyone!! It seems like the time goes by so fast, and every day I wish she were here!! It never really gets easy having someone you love not here, and the hurt never goes away! There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of this wonderful woman and what an example she was to me. She was kind and fun to be around, she had a great sense of humor, and she was willing to do anything for anyone!! I wish that she were here to be a grandma-she would have loved it. I know she was taken from us for a reason, but it still doesn't seem fair that she can't be here!! I love you mom, and miss you more than anyone can imagine!

School started August 25th. Madison is in 4th grade. Its crazy to think I have a 4th grader! She is such a great girl, and she is always willing to help out when I need her. I will miss her while she is at school!
Austin is in 2nd grade. What a great brother he is to all his sisters. He loves them to death, but he definitely is what you'd expect of a brother--he loves to tease his sisters. Its so hard having my kids gone all day, realizing that my time with them is over. We had such a fun summer.
Madi and Austin were so excited for school to start that they were outside waiting to go to the bus for about 15 minutes before it was time to go.

Kemry had her 1st day of school today. She was so excited to go back to Mrs. King's preschool. We love Mrs. King. Madi, Austin, Kemry, and now Maycee have all gone to her preschool, and she is so awesome! Kemry gets to go 3 days this year, and she will love every minute of it!
Maycee had her first day yesterday, and she loved it. Maycee has 4 friends that she gets to go to preschool with. Her cousin Stratton, and friends Simon, Bryhn, and Presley. Maycee goes twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Maycee and Presley-- I kept trying to get a picture of Bryhn and Maycee, but Bryhn didn't really want her picture taken, and I never got one.
They both made these crowns the first day of school. Notice that Kemry and Maycee both wore the pink and white zip jacket on their first day. It is so great to have two girls this close in age that can share clothes! Its a good thing they each had their first day on different days! I can see problems in the future, if they stay the same size as they continue to grow--fighting over who gets to wear what!!!

On August 17th it was Jake's Birthday. I know its been a little while, but Happy Birthday Babe! We got Jake Rock Band for his birthday, so we had a little Rock Band party! He was so excited to be singing! If you can't tell. I think the kids are more excited to have this than Jake, but it is pretty fun to play all together! This summer my friend Eryn has been planning play dates for some of the moms with young kids in our ward. This was our last playdate of the summer, but it was only Eryn and I that were there with our kids. We went to the Bingham Copper Mine. The kids had fun, and I think the last time I went there was when I was a kid and my Aunt Joy was visiting with her kids.

This big tire was the only thing I remember about going there from when I was younger.
We had such a fun summer, and we kept pretty busy swimming, and playing the whole time. I'm so lucky that I'm able to stay home and be with my kids and do such great things.

Bridger's Baptism

Yesterday our nephew Bridger was Baptized and Confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His friend Hayden Baptized him, and Jake was able to confirm him. What an awesome day it was for Bridger and everyone there. Way to go Bridger! You are such a great example to all of us, and we sure love you! Bridger and Angie

This is our family waiting for Todd and Cara to come out of the Temple! Jake and Austin are a little outnumbered by the girls, so they had to wear pink!! Jake was not too thrilled but he was a good sport. He actually left the tag on the back of it and told Cara that his gift to her was that she could take the tie back and get her money back!

All the kids love Grandma Joy! Joy is my moms sister, and she is like a mom to me. We love her and are so thankful for all she does for us! She is such a blessing in our lives!

Todd & Cara's Wedding 8/8/08

Todd and Cara-the happy couple! We love Cara and are so glad that she is now a part of our family! We have been so lucky to have her live with us the past little while, and have loved having her around so we could get to know her better. She is such a great person. My kids loved her from day 1 and so did we. I'm pretty sure my mom had a big hand in their meeting each other. It never hurts to have a little help from above! We could all feel her presence today and know she wouldn't have missed it for anything. Thanks Cara for all you have done for my family. Todd you couldn't have picked a sweeter more beautiful girl than Cara! You are a lucky guy-she's such a sweetheart. Congratulations Todd and Cara!! We love you!!

This is Cara and her 4 sisters! They are all so beautiful. We have been lucky to get to know them and also Cara's mom! What wonderful people they are. I wish I had a picture of Cara and her mom. She is such a beautiful person also. Todd is so lucky to be married into such a great family!

Lagoon

All ready for Lagoon!!!

Kemry and Maycee couldn't wait to drive the car.

We had to stop for our favorite Lagoon treat-dippin dots. The White's had never had dippin dots. They were so yummy! Eryn and I were laughing when I took this picture. Maycee wouldn't stop crying and Kemry was mad because Bryn didn't want to go up and down. Between the crying and whining that they couldn't go up and down Brynlee had enough of all of it.
Jake decided to play the dart game and the first time he won "the big" prize. He then had to keep playing so that every kid had a prize by the time we left Lagoon. Most of the kids chose a tweety bird. Austin was the only one who chose taz. We all joked that Maycee should have had the taz since sometimes Jake refers to her as the devil. She is super sweet, but can be super naughty. We all had a great time. Thanks Jake for all the prizes.
